Bergen’s most famous attraction is Bryggen – a unified architectural environment of Hansa-time, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also Troldhaugen, composer Edvard Grieg’s beautiful and distinctive homes in the borough Fana is a popular destination. Here you will also find a separate Grieg Museum. And at the fish market in the center – the city’s oldest trading place – it is very crowded, especially in summer.
Bergen is one of Norway’s most important cultural cities – and some of the core institutions Theatre The National Theatre and Concert Hall Grieghallen. And every year in late May to June organized the internationally renowned Festival. Mention must also Bergen Museum, Bergen Kunstmuseum and Bergen Maritime Museum. It is also popular to drive to Troldhaugen, located just 7 km from the city center. Troldhaugen was built in 1885, where the composer Edvard Grieg (1843-1907) lived for 22 years of his life. The house is today a museum, and it held regular concerts on site.
