This certificate guarantees that the environmental management system implemented by Valladolid Airport complies with all the requirements set forth in standard UNE-EN-ISO 14001:2004.

The airport has set itself a range of objectives to ensure ongoing improvement and adaptation to new needs. These include compliance with legislation, improving storage conditions for dangerous waste through the use of a “clean point”, using an authorised waste management agency, creating intermediate collection points, building an aircraft de-icing apron, devising a maintenance plan for hydrocarbon separators, making annual analyses of spills (sewage and rainwater) and monitoring and controlling airport concessionaires, etc. These objectives are all aimed at guaranteeing the safety and protection of the environment.

The airport is also equipped with containers for the selective collection of glass, paper/cardboard, alkaline batteries, copier toner and urban waste.

Training courses in environment awareness are also run for the various groups associated with the airport, their aim being to prevent risks, save energy and encourage reuse and recycling.

The airport has a special apron for conducting fire fighting drills that meets all the necessary requirements for avoiding soil contamination.

The management system documentation includes instructions for correct practices when faced with potential fuel spillages on the apron.

Whilst the history of the harbour stretches back to the 15th century, the first jetty was built in 1871 and it became an important gateway for the export of raisins. The raisin trade collapsed at the end of the 19th century, and the settlement became only a fishing harbour. The modern harbour was built in the 1950s and 1960s. The nautical club has been in the central area of the harbour since 1963. The landmark is the church of Mare de Déu de Loreto, built in 1967 in the shape of an oval boat keel, to resemble a fishing vessel bursting through the waves.

Javea offers a big number of bars, restaurants, cafes and shops. This town gives open choice of activities, from diving, sailing and surfing to mountain walks, tourists historical routes and gastronomic celebrations.

Zittau is located in eastern Germany – in the state of Saxony, close the border with both Poland and the Czech Republic. Only the river Neisse separates Zittau from the Polish towns Sieniawka and Porajów – and the distance to the Czech border is just 3 km. St. Johannis-Kirche was built in 1291 but burned down and was rebuilt in the 1700s. Also Frauenkirche (listed in 1355) has been ravaged by fire (restored in 1600) – while Weberkirche / Drefaltigkeitskirche, which was originally built ca. 1500 was vigorously rebuilt and expanded in the 1700s.

Nearest international airport is Dresden Airport, located 77 km northwest of Zittau. It may incidentally be noted that also Prague Airport by the Czech capital is in Zittaus Neighborhood – about 95 km south of the city.

Wuppertal, which has 360,000 inhabitants (2008), is a relatively “new” city in the western German state Nordhrein-Westphalia. Wuppertal arose when several smaller cities in southern Ruhr area – along the river Wupper – were merged.

The city’s most famous landmark is the distinctive tissue path – a monorail system, where the carriages hanging in a specially constructed path 12 meters above the river Wupper, as the train follows along a stretch of over 13 km. “Wuppertaler Schwebebahn” was constructed in the late 1890s, and is – besides being an important public transport means in the city – also a major attraction.

It is a monumental building in nyklasissistisk style, which was completed in 1900 – and which, inter alia, contains a concert hall known for its good acoustics. Wolfsburg, with approx 120,000 inhabitants (2008), is located entirely east of the northwestern German state of Lower Saxony. Unlike most other cities in Germany is the very “young”. It was namely founded as late as 1938 – under Adolf Hitler’s Nazi government, as a living area for the employees of the newly established Volkswagen factory. Originally, the city’s name Stadt des KdF-wagens, but it was changed to Wolfsburg in 1946 – one calling for a nearby Renaissance castle.

And just Schloss Wolfsburg, with a history dating back to the early 1300s, is one of the city’s premier attractions. However, there are also other older architecture that stems from a period several centuries before the city was to – inter alia, Burg Neuhaus (from around the year 1400) and Schloss Fallersleben (1551).

Otherwise, it is, naturally, modern architecture that characterizes the city. Here particular Alvar-Aalto-Kulturhaus (1962) mentioned – designed by and named after the world-famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. Also Theater Wolfsburg building, listed in 1973, is an example of modernist monumental architecture.

Among the city’s many museums, it is natural to especially mention Die Autostadt, which is both a museum and an amusement park related to the Volkswagen Group.
